Visual Thinking Strategies—Theory and Applied Areas of Insertion

Twenty-first century learners live in a highly visual world, being constantly surrounded by visual, technologized stimuli and the educational system, be it general or specialized—as case of higher education—needs to creatively meet answer these learning requirements. Among plethora new updated approaches, concept Visual Thinking Strategies (VTS) designed Philip Yenawine Abigail Housen has gained extensive popularity due its capacity adapted wide range specialized fields with notable improvement results. The main purpose present review is synthetically critically relevant scientific work related application VTS procedure further identify possible study areas that would benefit from insertion this procedure. Thus, theoretical perspective tackled cognitive-psychology standpoint, followed rendering research variety applied contexts pertaining different domains, as well online web clustering. These have shown predilection for usage, which improves higher-education students’ vocabulary speaking skills same target language, but not ESP (English specific purposes) classes.
